The local chapter’s goal is to increase public and security industry awareness of security and the professionals who work in the industry through, chapter meetings, seminars and this web site.
Our chapter affords its members the opportunity to network with other industry professional, attend educational events and keep current on the latest industry trends.
With over 300 members the Baltimore Chapter has one of the highest concentrations of Certified Protection Professionals (CPP) among all active chapters.
Metro Crime Stoppers is holding it's annual Oyster & Bull Roast on March 14th, 2010 at Michael's 8th Avenue. This is always a GREAT event supporting a wonderful community association. Please see upcoming MCS link for more information.
The Baltimore (Maryland) Chapter of ASIS International is holding a workshop in conjunction with the Metropolitan Police Department, AlliedBarton Security Services and the Inter-American Development Bank on Workplace Violence and Surving an Active Shooter the first week of April at the International Development Bank at 1300 New York Avenue NW, Washington, DC. About the program As the economy continues to struggle, workplace violence is expected to rise. Understand the attitudes, beliefs, and mental images of perpetrators from psychological and law enforcement perspectives and learn effective redirection strategies. Components of a defensible workplace violence program will be presented to help participants determine the effectiveness of their own programs.
Presented by Bruce Blythe,CEO of Crisis Management International, Inc., has worked with hundreds of organizations in crisis prevention, preparedness, and response. He is a former Marine, certified clinical psychologist, author, and has served as a consultant to the FBI on terrorism and workplace violence.
